Scholes: England Players Too Selfish

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes catapult scathing criticism by saying the England players are too selfish.
Throughout his career, Paul Scholes pack 66 caps with the Three Lions before retiring from the national team in 2004. Scholes who is now 36-year-old was admitted "giving up" with the England players who he thought only the pursuit of individual pride.

"I give up. When you play for a team, you certainly want to be part of that team and played well, with emphasis on the individual victory of the team," said Scholes in the Telegraph.

"(In England) we can do a bait 10 feet with ease, but the player may choose to feed as far as 80 meters. They want to try to get individual attention," he continued.

"I have no problem not playing in my position. At United, I've played on the left side, do not know how many. I probably have plenty of time to score from that position, and I think it's no problem,"

Scholes added, what the Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said that players are thinking more about the club from the national team will probably be a problem facing England in the future.

"It would be a problem if you play on a team but not too concerned with that team. I think what Jamie (Carragher) about it is true and become a factor when England lost,"

"I felt when I was playing in England, there are players from the club (eg Aston Villa) to play for England and take advantage of that moment to take the attention of big clubs,"

"I do not know how you feel. Do they have a good reason? I think they are a very unselfish player," said Scholes.
